Stunning statement pieces and everyday functional art - our mouth blown glassware is a unique collection of pieces that will bring any dining table or display to a new level of elegance.
All of our mouth blown glassware is designed and produced by Ghana's only glassblower, Michael Tetteh. During travels through France and the Netherlands in 2012, Michael discovered glassblowing and fell in love with the art. Bringing the techniques home with him to West Africa, he constructed his own stoves following online tutorials and gathered scrap metal, clay, and collected materials.
The materials for the mouth blown glassware itself is recycled glass waste, from the many bottles, tv screens, and window panes abandoned in scrap yards and landfills in Accra, Ghana's capital. The glass, which would only serve to lay dormant forever, finds new life in Michael's creations, brining joy to households with their unique designs and vibrant colours.
The majority of our designs of mouth blown glassware are our vases, which are each individual items that are completely unique. The vases are handmade, of course, and each feature a different prominent colour to either match with your home decor, or to stand out as a statement piece. As well as the vases, the collection of mouth blown glassware also includes drinking glasses, tealight holders, and a gorgeous carafe.
